Aunt Lee’s Chocolate Chip Cookies
Here’s a really different chocolate chip cookie recipe because it is softer and “cakier” than most recipes because there is less sugar in it. It was given to me many years ago from my aunt through marriage (Lee Pasquarelli Celona). She has since passed on, but I still treasure this and other recipes she gave me as all of them are healthier and taste better than the usual recipes for that particular food.
Try to use organic ingredients, especially butter, as fats are storehouses for antibiotics, pesticides, herbicides, toxins and hormones that animals are exposed to. These cookies are great for back to school snacks or to just enjoy with a glass of cold milk. Yum!
Preheat oven to 350 degrees
2 sticks butter
half cup brown sugar
2 eggs
2.25 cups flour
half teaspoon baking soda
half teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon vanilla
1.5 cups chocolate chips
half cup walnut pieces
Melt butter and cream together with brown sugar. Add eggs and vanilla. Combine flour, baking soda and baking powder. Add chocolate chips and walnuts.
Drop tablespoon-sized dough pieces on cookie sheet lined with parchment paper and bake 10 to 15 minutes or until golden in color.
