Bidets: Improved Personal Hygiene

“Bidet” is a French word meaning “pony”, harkening back to early basin-like fixtures in which a person straddled over (like riding a pony).  Those early devices sprayed a soft stream of water toward the personal areas for hygienic cleansing purpose. Today’s bidets come in a wide variety of types: shower toilets, electronic and non-electronic seat bidets, insert bidets, hand sprays and travel bidets. The popularity and use of the bidet has especially boomed in Japan and Korea, the origin of the hi-tech electronic bidet concept, and there are now more than 100 million electronic bidets in service worldwide.  Currently these hi-tech bidets are installed in most homes and hotels in many countries to satisfy the health conscious public.  Historically, bidets have long been a standard bath fixture for providing personal hygiene primarily in European and Asian countries.  Common sense indicates that a gentle warm water wash is far superior to the somewhat archaic, primitive and often irritating method of using fibrous toilet tissue to clean sensitive areas.

A Travel Bidet is a unique personal hygiene system which makes cleansing more convenient and effective beyond what toilet paper alone can achieve.  Best of all they are easy to carry and use anywhere, for example, on planes, trains and cruise ships. Washing is simply accomplished by directing the wand and outlet head to the appropriate area and pressing the power button on the unit.  The washing heads are easily detached for cleaning and the water reservoir can be easily refilled for additional washes as necessary. After use, the washing wand folds back into the main pump and power unit which then slides back into the reservoir to its compact size until needed again.  Besides routine wand cleaning and battery replacement, maintenance should not be necessary.

Have you ever thought about how you would ever get along without modern conveniences like washing machines, clothes dryers, dishwashers, cell phones and WiFi? Well, bidets are like that. Once you have used them, you won’t want to go back to just toilet paper! It’s like having a shower fresh feeling each time you restore your personal comfort.

There are many types of bidets to fit every budget and lifestyle, including individuals with disabilities, children, the elderly, and everyone in between. I’d like to thank RenaissancePersonalCare.com  for providing some of this content.
